He didn't say a word. The players weren't up for much chat after the performance.Blueberto wrote:why didn't you get me a pint, ya tight twatKnight of Thorgothshire wrote:Very good! What was his comment after you welcomed him to Everton?Lumper wrote:

Fair enough. I had a Luis Vutton sports bag that I used to take to football. Still surprised that Luis Vutton sells their bags at knock down prices in Phuket markets.Lumper wrote:Have my ownMr_Ben wrote:Did you try and steal his Luis Vutton wash bag?

Looking forward to seeing this lad. He could well be the creative force that we have been crying out for which could mean that our strikers aren't feeding on scraps every game.

Re: 16: James McCarthy - covers the Earth's surface
McCarthy has had time to settle now so i'm interested in hearing peoples thoughts about him.
Being a Wigan lad I saw plenty of him and always rated him but with a £13 million price tag I could understand why people were anxious when we signed him.
I think he's settled quickly into the first team and has formed a good partnership in the middle with Barry who he'll learn a lot from. Works hard from box to box, keeps the ball well and has the obvious advantage of knowing how Bobbie wants him to play having played under him at Wigan.
What do you lot think of him and the £13 milion price tag now?

Re: 16: James McCarthy - covers the Earth's surface
I had reservations at the price and his first few performances but he's still young and he shows a lot of intelligence when he plays. I think he will be very good for us and is a good addition to our team.Merseyblue wrote:McCarthy has had time to settle now so i'm interested in hearing peoples thoughts about him.

I didn't see yesterday's game but from earlier performances I would say he is a squaddie at best and I'm looking forward to Gibson being fit in again (and staying fit).Merseyblue wrote:McCarthy has had time to settle now so i'm interested in hearing peoples thoughts about him.

We should have signed Henderson instead. Or Joe Allen.

Re: 16: James McCarthy - covers the Earth's surface
Seen flashes so far of his box to box ability, defensive cover and pass and move tendencies but certainly a lot to improve on. Yes, we probably overpaid but not in a Liverpool type way and he will get better. Also will help that he will get some proper coaching with Ireland as well who will probably play him in a similar position to Everton under O'Neill.
