Never saw him play for Wigan, so can't say I was over impressed with him.
RM obviously thinks Robles is the replacement for Howard?
Remembering him having a very good cup final. But he has blown his audition here. Timmy would have bent down, tied his shoe laces, roared out a few expletives, got up, scratched his arse and still saved that Ramirez shot.

I wouldn't have mind too much if that was his only mistake. He dropped the ball a few times too. Expect him to be back for The FA Cup game though.

Sevilla want Everton keeper Joel Robles.
The Spanish club have made enquiries to the 23-year-old's representatives and are prepared to match the £3million Everton paid to buy him from Atletico Madrid last summer.
Robles has been No.2 to Tim Howard and has made six of his eight appearances in the cups, but Everton may want a bigger fee to allow him to go to Sevilla as Roberto Martinez does rate him.

Good news if true. Now all we need is someone to cough up £6m for Kone.

Great performance last night. Can he save us a few million quid and stake a serious claim for the No.1 spot? No joke - thought he was the worst goalkeeper Id ever seen play for us last season. However has got better with each game since Howards injury.
Sounds funny but I had a hope a few weeks ago when he was screened on a couple of occasions on live TV screaming 'What the f**k was that?' at his defence. Strangely enough that made me think he has a chance and since then he has looked good. Maybe its confidence but a goalkeeper needs to communicate with his defence and own the box so that was a promising sign.
David De Gea looked awful in his first season and now looks the best keeper in the Prem so who knows?

Certainly agile and quick enough. (The Russian game notwithstanding, in fact not with saving either)

I think I might wait a while before I hail him as the new saviour. "Save"-iour. Ha ha dead funny that.
Re: 1. Joel Robles - The New (Better) Mucha
Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles showed in his own back yard he is just as skilful with his feet as he is with his hands. The Spaniard posted a video on Twitter of himself audaciously chipping a ball through a basketball net and posted the message "And...went inside! Yeah!"

ok, maybe not in so many words, but that's what he meant

Harsh as fuck that, yes he made a few mistakes but since his inclusion we have had the best results bar Spurs....haven't we?
Re: 1. Joel Robles - The New (Better) Mucha
I don't think either of them are up to standards of some our recent keepers e.g. Howard, Martyn

we need to throw Big Nev into the mix as well.
All three keepers above make our current keepers look like lightweights (no offence Big Nev, you fat bastard)
Re: 1. Joel Robles - The New (Better) Mucha
I loved Martyn. Howard was good, but I rated Martyn as one of the best we have had.Armchair wrote:I don't think either of them are up to standards of some our recent keepers e.g. Howard, Martyn

As per this article, Robles could be on his way out.

According to reports, Deportivo La Coruna are ready to snap up Everton’s Joel Robles.
Joel Robles swapped the number one position with Maarten Stekelenburg last season, and with Everton splashing £30million on Jordan Pickford, it is clear the former Sunderland keeper will be the Blues preference.

wonder how much we will sell him for? Think he is worth £20m in today's market? The President wrote:According to reports, Deportivo La Coruna are ready to snap up Everton’s Joel Robles.

I feel for the lad a bit. He's proved he's a decent goalie, albeit not the world class level we're now aiming for. I hope he finds somewhere he can claim the 1st team spot.

I'd rather keep Robles and get rid of Stekelenberg. Robles might still become a good keeper (if he can iron out the errors) whereas Stekkers is too old to improve.
