Surely it makes sense him staying with us and getting treatment/fitness than match practice at England.

England have qualified too, so it's not like he is an essential player.

I'd expect him to be fit for Man Utd.

Chelsea are keen to renew their efforts to land Stones next month while Manchester United and Manchester City are both plotting their own big-money offers.
However, it is now understood that Stones’ preference is to remain with the Toffees until at least the summer.

Money plus Gary Cahill from Chelsea and you got yourself a deal. Spend some of the rest on Ashley Williams and the new manager will have a solid foundation to work with

John Terry announces he is leaving Chelsea at end of season. Surely won't be easy to turn down a monster bid now?

I would imagine a bid of £40m will come in at the end of the season. Hopefully spark a bidding war, and we'll get £45m plus a load of performance related add-ons.
