Chelsea will have to match Everton boss Roberto Martinez's £45m asking price if they are to secure a deal for defender John Stones. (Sun - subscription required)

Heard on twitter last night that the Everton team bus pulled up at the services where Stones was asked by a bunch of fans 'whats going on?'. Apparently he just broke down in tears and got pulled away by Naismith.
His head must be a complete mess. You kind of feel sorry for the lad a bit when you hear stuff like this.

I hope Bobby spoke to him privately before his interview last night. While it's good to see the club taking a firm line, it's important that the club don't forget to do things the right way, and always talk in private before you go public.

The agent could easily have said fuck off to Chavs on his client's behalf... EFC have said not for sale... the lad wants to play & further his career & become an established international and that won't happen sitting the Chavs dugout or on loan to Dynamo Moscow... so listen again Maureen.... fuck off.
btw... Why aren't the FA doing anything... surely it's not right that Chavs can continue to pursue & bid a player when the club has said NOT FOR FUCKING SALE ...
Football is fucked up

Re: 26. John Stones - Pirlo eat your heart out!
full blame lies with Chelsea and the media (particularly Sky) on all this as far as i'm concerned.
they went public and tried to turn our players head despite being told that he's not for sale on numerous occasions and the media have backed them and tried to push this through.
I don't blame Stones for wanting a move, he should think he's got the ability to make it in a team challenging for the league and playing champions league football otherwise you've got to question his ambition, within 2 seasons if looked after he'd be first choice on the team sheet. the problem is Chelsea are notoriously shit at nurturing youth players, the pressure to win and not make mistakes is too high for them.
with the transfer request it's going to put him in line for shit from our fans now, except the ones who blame the board if their coffees is cold in the morning, however this will have come from chelsea and his agent, surely nobody thinks it's a coincednec that his transfer request went in the next morning after the rags started saying the chavs want him to put in a TR before they make another bid.
loved the statement by Bobby last night, proper big balls, I hope this gets referred to the FA for tapping up cause this has been disgraceful. Surely everyone can see that the only benefit of having the window open once the season starts is for Sky's benefit

of course they won't, they're allowed to get away with whatever they like.
didn't they have a suspended sentence for tapping up a few seasons back which didn't seem to make the slightest difference.

Maureen and Ashley Cole had fines over Cole's transfer from Le Arse, plus there was a suspended points deduction.
They also had a transfer ban following the signing of Gael Kakuta from Lens.

Everton: crazy, childish, bullies. A few of the words I've read in response to us turning down the transfer request. How dare we try to keep hold of one of our most promising players with a 4 year contract.
