OVIEDO SIGNS NEW CONTRACT
Bryan Oviedo has signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract at Everton that keeps him at the club until 2019.
Oviedo told the club's website: “I am really happy to commit my future to Everton because this is a special club and, for me, a second home.
“When I experienced some really tough times, the toughest of my career, everybody was behind me – the manager, the staff, the players and the fans and that support helped me through and made me stronger, as a person and as a player.
“I feel that I am in the best moment of my career. I am experienced now. When I first came here I was 22 years old and now I am 25 … 26 next week! I have greater confidence and I have a real ambition to win a trophy for Everton."

Re: 8. Bryan Oviedo (Baby!)
Interesting since we have 4 left backs now then: Baines, Oviedo, Galloway and Garbutt.
Re: 8. Bryan Oviedo (Baby!)
Bryan Oviedo has thanked Evertonians for their well-wishes after he was diagnosed with a chest infection.
The Costa Rican was admitted to hospital on Wednesday morning and is currently under observation.
Oviedo, who last month signed a new contract at Goodison Park, has started Everton’s last seven fixtures in all competitions.

(I recall Peter Reid playing with broken ribs, which was kept quiet, and if he was in pain went down holding his thigh. Had any player known, you know the digs would have gone in early)

Re: 8. Bryan Oviedo (Baby!)
GONE!
OVIEDO & GIBSON
Gibson joins Sunderland from Everton for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal.
Oviedo has put pen to paper on a Sunderland deal until summer 2020.
“Bryan is a very good player and he’ll help us get forward,” said David Moyes. “He’s quick and overall he’s a decent left-back.
“I signed him for Everton from Copenhagen as cover for Leighton Baines at the time, and he’s only not getting in because of how well Leighton’s done.
“We’ve got Darron on an 18-month contract and I think he’s a very good footballer; he’ll add a bit of quality with his passing and his play and I’d love him to add goals.
“He has a really good strike and if he can add goals from midfield it would be a big bonus.”

Re: 8. Bryan Oviedo (Baby!)
Shame. I like Ovvy but he was either injured or kept out of the side by Baines.
I assume Garbutt or Galloway will be recalled to cover LB?
