saw this earlier today.. may actually not be a bad deal for us... we have our solid old guy with Baines.. and selling Ovvy Baby would allow Garbut to get some well deserved bench time

Moyes would try and get Oveido on the cheap.

How long left on his contract?

Expires at the end of next season I believe.

Agreed. A bit like Robles, if he got a decent run of games who could prove to be a real asset, although Garbett looks the more impressive left back long term.

Oviedo scored 2 goals, had 2 assists and 3 clean sheets in the 3 games he first played for us. I think he's a fucking great player. If we don't get him a new contract I'll be livid.

David Moyes is ready to raid former club Everton to try and lure Bryan Oviedo to Spain. The Real Sociedad coach wants to put his own stamp on the Basque club and is targeting Oviedo, whose season has been ruined by injury.

The Costa Rica international, who can play at left-back or further forward, has made just 11 appearances this term with his campaign having been prematurely ended by a broken metatarsal.

Everton paid around £3m for Oviedo when Moyes signed him from FC Copenhagen in August 2012.

I like him a lot but we should probably let him go. We've got Baines with Garbutt as back up, plus Galloway can slot in there as well.

Crocked again, pulled out of Costa Rica squad with a knee injury.

So, that's our last left back injured. But it's okay, cos we've got five wingers now.

I wonder if thats just because the club don't feel him jetting off to Costa Rica at this stage of his recovery what he needs. Would make sense.

I agree, he was actually a liability out there. Maybe it goes to show that the CR squad is lacking at LB more than a testament to Oviedo's skills.

In my opinion it disrespects us. He is clearly a long way away from being match fit. No point.

Not surprising given the amount of time he's had out the game through injury. He needs at least another half dozen game before we can expect him to be back to where he was a couple of seasons ago. He's a good player though.

Just for that one moment at Old Trafford, he's top drawer for me.
It was my first trip there for 33 years, and went cause I knew we'd do 'em.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Roberto Martinez has allayed fears over Bryan Oviedo after the full-back was forced off during the 3-3 draw at Chelsea.

The Costa Rica full-back was stretchered off in the 71st-minute of the game at Stamford Bridge, with replacement Ramiro Funes Mori going on to score Everton’s third.

But Martinez insisted there are no major concerns over Oviedo and that he will be monitored over the rest of the weekend.

“Bryan’s injury is not serious and he should be ok,” said the Blues boss. “We will assess him over the next 24 hours.

“It was more a knock rather than anything else. We expect that Bryan will be ok.”
