Phil Neville praised Gibson calling him "one of the snips of the century".
I must say I have been pretty impressed with him and his set pieces have looked good recently. In some ways he has been an improvement on Arteta.

He doen't do anything spectacular, he just get's the ball and (more often than not) gives it to a player in space.
Obviously the football officinados at Old Trafford don't appreciate players like that, but he fit's right in at Everton and at 500k is an absolute steal and is missed when he doesn't play.

The Republic of Ireland international has proved his doubters wrong by striking up an effective midfield partnership with Neville
After one game! Pip hanging on his coat tails there!

He's the type of player we've missed since Lee Carsley left.

Some idiot Bluenoses, were moaning as we left GP last week. "Neville and Gibson never got a tackle in between them." Some times I just don't get it.

Those are the same people, my guess, that would moan if we beat Barcelona in the CL finals saying "We did conceed you know, we really should have beaten them 5-0 not 5-1".Yankthattoffee wrote:Hinchcliffe Corner wrote:He's the type of player we've missed since Lee Carsley left.

Today, he ran the game. Probably his most impressive game I've seen him play. Just about everything went through him. Ossie & Peanut buzzed around him.Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Those are the same people, my guess, that would moan if we beat Barcelona in the CL finals saying "We did conceed you know, we really should have beaten them 5-0 not 5-1".Yankthattoffee wrote:Hinchcliffe Corner wrote:He's the type of player we've missed since Lee Carsley left.

MOTD should be interesting to watch.

I was thinking the very same thing yesterday morning. The transfer price is so ridiculous you fear that somewhere there is a horrible snagging catch

Simple fact is United didn't rate him and they brought Scholes out of retirement rather than give him a starting place. After watching them last monday, I'd say he's exactly the kind of player they need. Wins the ball, plays the pass, keeps it simple. We simply dominated their midfield.

Gibson has withdrawn from the Irish side. Good news for Everton.

Trap never seems to pick him so why would he put his early good form at risk for a pointless trip to Kazakhstan?

Trapatonni won't be in the job by Christmas. There's too many decent players who don't want to play for him and even the most forgiving of fans aren't happy with what happened at the Euro's. His only saving grace is that the FAI is broke and can't afford to sack him. He advised Gibson to leave United and play regular football if he wanted to be included in the international team, Gibson leaves United and doesn't get a place. I'm not surprised he's withdrawn.

Re: 4: Darron Gibson - Another Fergie bargain?
we missed him today. As soon as he went off we faltered. Didn't help that Hibbo took 20 minutes to get into the game.

Gibson is our new Carsley. He does nothing spectacular or eye-catching but without him we are a worse side.

Re: 4: Darron Gibson - Another Fergie bargain?
big blow if true ... but we do have options for the anchor role that I believe is so important to our play ... J5, Pip, or the VOOman ...Tonteau wrote:Bryan wrote:6-8 weeks
Whereja hear that?
We know J5 is a good option in there & Pip as the skipper has a strong play for the slot, especially as Hibbo is fit again to go into RB... if what we have been fed about VOO is true... maybe this is the opportunity to unearth the find of the season...
We shouldn't be afraid of losing players to injuries / reds with the squad Moyes has built... even if they are influential like Gibbo
I'm still positive !!!

Looks like we got a bit lucky with the international break being when it was. Three weeks is no great disaster.

As well the Goodison clash with Newcastle, Gibson is likely to miss Everton’s Premier League meetings with Swansea and Southampton and the Capital One Cup third round trip to Leeds.
Re: 4: Darron Gibson - Another Fergie bargain?
I count the 3 points lost at WestBrom as part of this too. We look far better with him than without him.
