Gives credit when it's due. Says it like it is. Doesn't seemingly get into Wengerisms of SAFrons.
I like him as our project leader.
He clearly had high hopes for us this year. Oh well. Next year Dave.

Aston Villa's chances of luring David Moyes to become their new manager have been boosted by the Everton boss learning he will have to adopt a sell-to-buy policy at Goodison Park this summer.

"DM already linked with Villa." One would ask, you mean this reporter has beefed up his report with his own speculation?
He also writes - BBC Radio 5 live's Pat Murphy said: "The decision will be in the interests of Aston Villa, not Houllier."
Good news organisation - crass reporter.

(Not the job, but all the attachements, so to speak. The astonishing variety of people, from staff to guests. It's difficult to imagine a another job, where you would meet sportmen, major politicians from the islands, musicians & performers, from Oliver North to Shirley Jones, from NASCAR champions to Hacksaw Jim Duggan, from Duncan Mackenzie to Mickey Arison. I miss that side of the gig more than anything. Not to forget 12 - 16 dancers backstage every night.)

Unless the Villa boss states they is over £100m in transfer cash, without selling Downing, Young etc then Moyes would be daft to take the job.

Re: DAVID MOYES - ex Boss
David Moyes has urged Everton supporters to exercise extreme caution when listening to transfer gossip this summer.
The 2010/11 campaign is barely over and already the rumour mill has gone into overdrive.
Newspapers and websites are full of stories predicting all manner of moves and the Blues themselves have been linked with a number of players.
But Moyes insists supporters should only believe what they hear directly from him.
He said: “What will happen is that the media will speculate which players will be coming in – probably most of them miles off the mark – and what that does to the supporters is sometimes lead them in the wrong direction.
“I have always said that unless you hear it from me then don’t believe it, my job is to try and get the supporters the best team I possibly can and I will try and do that with what I have available.”
Meanwhile, Dutch international John Heitinga insists the Blues do not need many new faces. He feels only a certain quality of player can improve the squad that is already in place.
Heitinga is also fully behind Moyes, who he feels can deliver a trophy next season.
“I don’t think just anyone can play for Everton,” he said. “We are a Club with a lot of tradition and you have to show your spirit. I think we have already got a few big names and have a good squad. We don’t have the biggest squad but the players that are playing here now have been playing a long time together.”
Heitinga added: “(David Moyes) is a good manager. I think after Ferguson and Wenger he is the longest serving manager at any club. He gives the players confidence and I think we did quite well after a slow start, like last season. Hopefully for him, for the fans and for the players maybe we can get into Europe or win the Carling Cup or the FA Cup next season.”

Former Everton assistant manager Alan Irvine believes David Moyes will celebrate his tenth anniversary at Goodison Park next season.
Moyes, who joined the Blues in March 2002, has been linked with a number of managerial vacancies in recent months.
Irvine told BBC Radio Merseyside: "David is very happy at Everton. He knows he's loved by everybody.
"The fans know what a good job he's done, so it would take a lot to get him away from there."
Irvine, who served as Moyes' assistant from 2002 to 2007, is currently out of work after leaving Sheffield Wednesday in February.
"David and I talk frequently, although not so frequently when things aren't going too well.
"I was surprised how they started last season, for some reason it didn't happen, but once again they finished very strongly and I'm sure they'll be competing again at that top end."
The former Toffees midfielder concluded: "It will be difficult with Manchester City and Tottenham competing with the traditional top four, but I really hope Everton start well and have their usual strong finish."

His first question should be, "why didn't you come to me, a manager that against the odds has had his team in Europe, before you went to a manager who has almost had his team relegated?"

The Villa job is sounding like a poisoned chalice. O'Neill and Houllier didn't last long, Martinez won't even talk to the club...makes you wonder what the problem is. Lerner perhaps?

Bill Kenwright will move to safeguard David Moyes’ future by offering the Everton manager a new long-term contract. Moyes, who has two years to run on his current deal, is known to have had misgivings over the club’s prospects amid deepening financial gloom, and was among those considered by Aston Villa after ill-health forced Gerard Houllier to quit last season. Kenwright, who appointed Moyes in 2002, will open talks in the New Year.
