3 massive points today. Well done in the end, not the best of games, but we edged it I felt for playing better football.
Re: Everton 1 (Yakubu) Stoke 0
Bit of an ugly win that.
Stoke will be upset with the disallowed goal. There was a push but Baines needs to be stronger IMHO. Got away with that one a bit.
Good to see Yak net again!
Happily take the three points.

10 shots on goal to their 1.
Why exactly should they feel aggrieved? We had a goal and a pretty safe penalty disallowed too

Oh no..Davie could be in line for manager of the month for October.
Just the solitary goal conceded all month.

It amused me that Yak seemed to have forgotten his goal celebration for a few moments....

Have they complained, or has Pulis (sp?) made a comment that they were hard done by?mindyerho? wrote:10 shots on goal to their 1.

Re: Everton 1 (Yakubu) Stoke 0
can't find the link now. One of the papers said they might be on the Tuncay 'goal'

Ah yeah, that was probably a goal to be fair. Poor communication between Howard and Baines. I think that Howard should have come out to take the ball, but we are rather used to Howard and his hesitations by now... So yeah, that was a let off. Overall though I think we earned it by playing better football.mindyerho? wrote:can't find the link now. One of the papers said they might be on the Tuncay 'goal'

I bet the media just focus on the disallowed goal and ignore all the good work by Everton. MOTD are bound to!

Re: Everton 1 (Yakubu) Stoke 0
I can't think of any way of describing Stoke other than annoying effective. They were never going to win today, but they were excellent at preventing us from playing. Might be painful to watch, but nothing stopping them from doing it.
Reckon there was a nudge on Baines by Tuncay, but was a soft decision. It came in the middle of a 10 minute spell were the ref lost the plot and was giving a foul for pretty much every little nudge.
No real stand out things to mention about our players today, just a good solid performance.
Anyone see the lil mascot before the game kicking the ball into the goal then running over to the corner flag and doing Cahill's celebration? Was adorable

I love Pulis' comment at the end of his interview.

Yak's goal today was the first this season in the EPL by an Everton striker.

And it was all Stoke too! Looked like we scored against the run of play. Personally I couldn't give a fuck. We have been on the wrong side of 1-0 enough this season.

Very lucky with the Stoke goal being disallowed, couldn't really see the problem myself when watching MOTD last night.
