Will be able to see him in action down London Road for a second time this season, when Sheff Utd visit at the end of October.Dixie Land wrote:David Weir has signed him for Sheff United.
Baxter was very quiet when he played for Oldham against Posh a couple of weeks ago.

Re: 37: Jose Baxter - finds his level at Prenton Park
League One side Sheffield United have suspended forward Jose Baxter after he failed an out-of-competition Football Association drugs test.
A statement on the Blades' website said "traces of a banned substance" were found when Baxter underwent testing.
"The player has informed the club that he engaged in no wrongdoing involving any banned substance," it added.
The 23-year-old scored 13 goals in 48 league and cup games for United during the 2014-15 campaign.
The news comes one day after Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore was suspended by the FA and his club following a positive test for cocaine.
Baxter started his career at Everton and signed a three-year deal at Bramall Lane after moving from Oldham Athletic in August 2013 for an undisclosed fee.
The statement added: "Established policy in these circumstances requires that the club temporarily suspend the player pending further findings.
"The club has taken this step without prejudice to the player's claim of no wrongdoing."
Sheffield United finished fifth in the League One table before losing 7-6 on aggregate to Swindon Town in the play-off semi-finals.

Some people don't know when they have it good, most young lads ''better players'' would give their right-arm for the life of a player.

Saw he play for Sheff Utd a couple of times against Posh. Always put in a decent performance.

Everton have offered their former midfielder Jose Baxter a 12-month contract, which would start when the 24-year-old's one-year drugs ban ends in June.

It's good of the club to look after one of their own. Not for the first time, this is Baxter's last chance.

I always rated Baxter. Not impressed with how he left the club though. Maybe he has learned from his experiences.
It will be interesting to see what his attitude is, if indeed he makes the 1st team squad.

Seen him play against Peterborough a few times when he was at Oldham and Sheff Utd. Always looked very decent on the ball, scored a couple of decent goals in one game if I remember correctly.

Re: 37: Jose Baxter - finds his level at Prenton Park
Reading at the article, it looks like Unsworth giving him the chance just to train and play with under 23s with the view of finding a club in lower leagues. I doubt he has the capability to perform in Premier League anytime soon.SouthernSmugToffee wrote:Lumper wrote:Super wrote:Everton have offered their former midfielder Jose Baxter a 12-month contract, which would start when the 24-year-old's one-year drugs ban ends in June.

Wouldn't have touched him with a 10 foot shitty stick....
We are Everton FC Ltd, last time I checked we were not listed as a charity (despite what happens on the pitch)

Re: 37: Jose Baxter - finds his level at Prenton Park
Oldham Athletic have re-signed midfielder Jose Baxter from Everton on a one-year deal 'in principle'.
Baxter, 26, had been training with Everton's under-23 side last season, after completing a 12-month drugs ban.
The Bootle-born schemer was a favourite in his one season at Boundary Park, scoring 17 goals in 50 games to help the Latics to the FA Cup fifth round.
"He's a talented player who has had some indecisive moments in his career," boss Richie Wellens said.
"But he has trained with Everton for the last 15 months and it is about time now he stepped back into first-team football and proved what a good player he is.
"I'm looking forward to working with him and giving him an opportunity now to get his career back on track and show the talent he has got."

Ha! I watched one of their games live in October. There was a fight at the end among the players which prompted a few red cards, so that was exciting.
