They've signed Matt Derbyshire since this story was released, so I think the Walkers Stadium will be safe from Big Vic next season unfortunately.

Vic's goal on Wednesday night was his first Everton goal since Birmingham away in March 2010 and it was his first at Goodison Park since the European tie against AE Larissa back in October 2007!

Re: 28: Victor Anichebe - Nigerian Scouser (permanently injured)
Victor injured playing for Nigeria. Looks as if Denis Stracquiscoobydoo will have to play next weekend unless Saha gets healed by some miracle.
Victor Anichebe and Joseph Yobo helped Nigeria to a 2-0 win over Madagascar.
Yobo, skippering his country, scored the first goal, stabbing in a John Obi Mikel corner with 22 minutes left.
A tense finish looked likely with the Super Eagles away from home and having to cope with what must be one of the worst pitches ever to host international football.
But former Everton target Victor Obinna smashed home a fabulous effort from long range to see off the island nation.
And reports from Madagascar said Anichebe picked up an injury towards the end of the game, possibly to his groin.
After this African Cup of Nations qualifier success, Nigeria are now scheduled to play Argentina in a friendly on Tuesday.

good news is that Baines is fit
Did you read the comments below that piece? It's rare to see news of a long-term injury greeted with sighs of relief. Feel sorry for Vic if he reads all that stuff. Mind you, he can always cuddle his pay-cheque if he's feeling unloved.

Victor Anichebe is now Everton's all-time leading scorer as a sub, his goal at Villa was his 9th, taking him ahead of Ferguson and Heath.

The 1-0 win at Blackburn in August was the only time since January 2009 that Everton striker Victor Anichebe has completed a full Premier League game.

VICTOR ANICHEBE has emerged as a transfer target for Wigan Athletic – should the Latics cash in on Victor Moses.
Wigan chairman Dave Whelan this week laughed off a £4million bid from Chelsea for forward Moses, who was a key player in Roberto Martinez’s side remarkable fight to avoid relegation last season.
The Latics are holding out for more than double that amount but, with Moses entering the final 12 months of his contract, are aware they must sell the player this summer or risk losing him for nothing next year.
Martinez has therefore already started earmarking possible replacements with Anichebe featuring prominently on his wanted list.
Injuries and inconsistent form have restricted the 24-year-old – who has three years remaining on his present contract – to just 30 starts in the last four seasons, during which he has netted only eight times.
Moyes may be tempted to part with Anichebe as he looks to raise funds to make permanent Steven Pienaar’s Goodison return.
Tottenham Hotspur are believed to want around £5million for the South African, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Everton.
Meanwhile, four Everton youngsters have been named in the England Under-19 squad for next month’s European Championships.
Ross Barkley, Luke Garbutt, John Lundstram and Hallam Hope head to Estonia next week.
