Quite a good little (4mins) piece from CNN about Tim

Re: 24: Tim Howard - USA USA USA
When Tim Howard first signed for Manchester United in 2003, it quickly became public knowledge that the Team America goalkeeper had Tourette’s syndrome.
In truth, it has not really been seen as an issue and Howard has never displayed any symptoms publicly during his time at United and Everton.
Now though, America is going crazy for Tim Howard and once again the Tourette’s syndrome has been brought up in the discussions.
Howard’s sensational performance against Belgium, with his record 16 saves, have caused CNN to gush over the USA number one.
And, on a segment aired on CNN on Wednesday, they also paid tribute to Howard who has had a hugely impressive career, despite Tourette’s syndrome.
Hairy, will be pleased.

Most yanks watching the game would never have heard of Everton. Who?
I hope Umbro have a shed load of shirts being shipped out there as we speak.

Is that true? Well I'm sure you know better than me, but I know a few yanks here who play football and they are all EFC fans due to Howard. Mind you they do say that Americans outside of the US are not representative of Americans.

He had a good game. Do you really think clubs are going to come in with a big bid for a 35 year old based on one game in the World Cup?
Plus if he gets us more exposure in the USA then that can generate more income for us.

“Soccer is helping sports marketing blow up globally,” says CAA’s Danforth. One salient example: General Motors’ Chevrolet is paying a mind-boggling $560 million to put its golden bow tie on Manchester United’s jerseys for seven years starting with the 2014-15 season."
How much is our Chang deal worth?

40,000,000,000 Thai baht. Which works out at 50p/season plus a crate of Chang for Bill at Christmas.

This is better than our previous sponsorship deals. We're getting better at this marketing thing.

Manure have signed a £750 million deal with Adidas to make their shirts for the next 10 years. I know we can't command these fees but in comparison ours are peanuts. It's no wonder we can't compete in the transfer market!Statman wrote:Armchair wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:Didn't read it all, but this stood out:Helenqu wrote:http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/world-cup-star-tim-howard-718280?

I knew that Rooney, among others, is good at needle-point. It thus makes sense he'd be good at sowing as well.Merseyblue wrote:Manure have signed a £750 million deal with Adidas to make their shirts for the next 10 years. Re: 24: Tim Howard - USA USA USA
Howard joined Everton from Manchester United in 2007 and has gone on to make 272 Premier League appearances for the Goodison Park side.
The 35-year-old was one of the USA's star men at the World Cup in Brazil, which has boosted his profile in his homeland.
The MLS has attracted a number of stars in recent years, including Frank Lampard and David Villa, and Howard feels the league has "grown by leaps and bounds" since he last played his club football in the States.
However, Howard is under contract until 2018 and he believes he will end his career with Everton.
"For me, I think the MLS ship has sailed," Howard told SB Nation, "I signed a new four-year contract with Everton.
"If you cut me open, I bleed blue and I want to finish my career there
. I can't foresee myself coming back. I think there was probably a chance before I signed the contract, but not anymore."
