He was a good signing and has done well for us but definitely time to move him on.

Yeah - the fans are just starting to get on his back and he probably knows he's not quite good enough for the first team any more.

To be fair to Pip, I think it's only in the last few months that his leadership qualities have no longer been enough to outweigh his shortcomings as a player. For most of his time with us, we've probably been better with him on the pitch than not.

A great Evertonian IMO, and will I'm sure always be welcomed back to Goodison. Should get a good send off from the fans at the last home game.

Possibly, but Moyes let Cahill go when it became apparent he was no longer up to the demands of PL footy, and I think he is doing the same with Pip.

Until he gives away a penalty in the last minute costing us qualification into the Champions League.

Fucking hell, I'm not saying they'll actually PLAY Pip, just that the fans will give him a good send off when he comes on to the pitch at the end in his suit to gave them a wave. I mean, yes, he was a good Evertonian, but not good enough to play another minute for us this season.

We're pretty well covered at RB as well. Coleman first choice, Hibbo offers solid cover and Stones might make it.

And failing that, we can play Stevie Wonder, Princess Diana or Doris the Tea-Lady's colostomy bag at right back before we have to consider Pip again.

Sadly, a game too far.
Good leader during his tenure. There were games a few years back when we were a better team with him than without.
Good luck to him, and I hope DM brings him on as a late sub in our final home game, when we are already 3-0 up.
Cheers Pip.

Must be easy playing in midfield for Stoke though, watch the ball fly over your head during your attacks, then if it comes to you just hoof it forward, in the meantime kick any opposition player who has the ball near you.

Is the hidden message in this that Moyes is staying ???????

David Moyes says the door remains open for Phil Neville to become a member of his coaching staff.

The 36-year-old Everton skipper announced his decision to leave the Club at the end of his current contract this summer and has stated his desire to continue playing.

But Neville has shown an eagerness to pursue a career in coaching - a second stint in a role with England Under-21s is lined up later this year - and Moyes acknowledged the credentials his skipper could offer as part of his back–room group.

"If he wants to be part of my staff here he is more than welcome, he really is," said Moyes. "I have given him an opportunity to stay on.

"He has been a big, powerful influence here for eight years and a big help to me in my job.

"Phil is at a time now where I am not sure he would play all the games for us. He has a little bit of a problem with a knee injury that he has to look after as well and that was reflected in our conversations.

"Phil has decided to continue playing and I am delighted for him. I think it's what he should do. I look at Davie Weir. I let Davie Weir go at a similar age and he went on to play for five more years [at Rangers] and play in a European final.

"I just think this is the right time for Everton. It was Phil who came more to the conclusion."

Latest rumour is he's in line for the Brighton job. Would make sense for him - not many make the leap from assistant manager to manager successfully, whereas the route from lower league manager to PL manager is a well-trodden one.
