Moyes was trying to sign Diego Tristan, but got the names mixed up.

Top Balcony Blue wrote:Tonteau wrote:My biggest problem with Distin is that he seems a bit of a sulk and sometimes he just doesn't look arsed. He's clearly a good player but feck me, he needs to show commitment 100% of the time. Doyle's goal for Wolves was fecking criminal the way distin let him go. I know we all want to think we got a great deal selling Lescott and getting in Distin, but Joleon is a better footballer and we are missing him a lot.
I know what you're saying, but I think that's a complete myth to be honest. One of those things that easily gets attached to Distin. I just don't think he's a leader, and that's what we're lacking at the moment. I wouldn't say he's deliberately not giving his all, I just don't think he's able to stand up and be counted in tough spots like Jags would be, Lescott was the same when he was partnered with Yobo.
Could be, mate. The one time I saw him play in the flesh I was really impressed with him. He stuck his body in where it hurt and was positionally good. Just think this run of bad results has got his heads down.

And the snow-capped mountains white
From a Distin the ocean meets the stream
And the eagle takes to flight!"

He is a good player playing in a team very short of confidence. Made a couple of mistakes recently but who in the side hasnt?

Now, Neill can play CB right...?
If he wasn't ineligible he'd be a decent replacement.
Re: 15: Sylvain Distin - Monster
Play Nash and Yakubu at the back!
I wonder if Cahill maybe asked to play CB

Jack Rodwell is also unlikely to return on Wednesday night despite being in the travelling party to Greece.
Teenagers Shane Duffy and Shkodran Mustafi are the only fully fit centre-halves on the trip - though Tony Hibbert could deputise as he has done already in Europe this season.

Dont really cate to be honest - both Yobo and Distin have been poor of late - it should make things more interesting with kids at the back!

Re: 15: Sylvain Distin - Monster
I think moyes should put some faith in the kids. Get Coleman on the right (his proper position) and put Duffy or Mustafi in the centre with hibbo (for experience's sake).

both duffy & mustaffa are 6'4 why won't moyes give them the chance big lads with hobbo on the right and baines on the left could help us in the premiership.
