Really you have to question whether he is another poor Moyes signing. I know he scored a few in his first season, but the majority were simple goals.
These are senior players out on loan. It's not like they're way off the first team. Leicester went into administration the year Moyes took over, so they can't have much to cough up. Do they have any superstars that might come the other way?

He scored 21 goals we have not had that for a while.

I am actually gutted the Yak has gone, but after that injury, he must be finished at top level, otherwise other prem clubs would be in for him. It might be that Moyes cannot give him first team footy as the % do not work and he comes back in the summer. Moyes appears to be decisive on this now and maybe should have taken the cash in the summer. The Yak at the derby was ace though and that will live in my memory.

It's done now so, spilt milk and all that.

According to Soccernet he hit 29 goals in 4 seasons here. That's an average of just over 7 per season. It's probably best not to look for an average during the last 3 seasons. His injury was a blow for sure, but he was given a good run before being 'strangely' dropped timing wise.
I hope he gets his career back on track. You have to think he has chosen the slippy slope going to Leicester. Plenty of Premiership clubs would have taken him on loan with a view to buy.

That is why he is off to a different division. Not a sniff from a prem club?

I can't honestly believe if Moyes said "who wants Yakubu on loan" to Prem clubs that noone would reply. Hasn't it occured after an enquiry from Leicester.

Also, I wonder a little about any breakdown of relationship between himself and the club. Moyes can be really stubborn and tempered if tales are to be listened to. I doubt Moyes would want to help another Prem club.

Proves my thoughts that the Yak and Davy had a falling out, he didn't want him playing against him this season in the PL.

Yak doesn't say anything derogatory about Moyes of EFC... sounds very matter of fact to me & relishing a chance to move on with a team that he feel is on the up.

Good luck to him, I've enjoyed some of his performances for us.

We got some money off Leicester for the yak's loan.

http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2011/01/14/moyes-eyes-loan-to-replace-yak

Moyes:

“Yak was keen to go and get some games. We got a bit of a fee for him to go which might allow us to look into the market a little bit.

“I felt at the time we had to try and find a way of moving forward. We have not scored enough goals and we need to look for other solutions.

“We’re in the market maybe for a loan replacement at the moment – that’s all we’ll be looking for.”

Post  Armchair on Sat 15 Jan 2011, 9:59 pm

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/dec/29/everton-yakubu-west-ham-transfer

Grant hoped to buy the striker, who following Everton's 1-1 draw at Upton Park last night admitted to frustration at again being on the bench, in the summer. But West Ham were told then that the price was £8m while David Sullivan, the co-owner, said publicly that Yakubu was worth "£1m to £2m". Grant is aware of Yakubu's qualities having worked with him when manager of Maccabi Haifa in 2002.

But then...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1301983/West-Ham-step-bid-sign-8m-Everton-striker-Yakubu.html

West Ham made an improved £8million bid for Everton striker Yakubu on Tuesday night and hope to win a work permit on appeal for Ajax striker Miralem Sulejmani, as they bid to sign him on loan.

But the Daily Fail also goes on to report this gem:

Carlton Cole is likely to stay after West Ham told Liverpool they want £15m plus £5m in add ons for the England international.

If only that move had gone ahead lol! lol! lol!

It is a strange one, I would never have let him go unless we were certain to get someone in, just tells me how dire our finances must be when we are loaning out players without anyone being lined up. first Yobo Now Yakubu and seems Moyes also wants to sell or loan Vaughan and Pienaar going we will start having more players who want to leave, the likes of Arteta and Heltinga are playing like they want to be elsewhere
