Re: 22:Ayegbeni Yakubu - being fed on Chicken!
Everton striker Yakubu not worth £8m says West Ham chairman David Sullivan
West Ham United have cooled their interest in striker Yakubu after valuing him at less than a quarter of the £8 million fee being quoted by Everton.
Chairman David Sullivan said on Wednesday night: “We have cooled on Yakubu. When you have a good hard look at him, we want younger and quicker and better.
"Everything has a price. You want to get Yakubu for £1-2 million and they are quoting £8 million and that is far too much.
“They have to be more realistic. If they said £1-2m we might go back. We bid more at the start of the summer because we had more flexibility but, at this moment in time, having spent some of our money on other players we want him for £1-2m.”
Everton manager David Moyes is highly unlikely to agree to such a dramatic drop in the player’s valuation even though he is prepared to sell the Nigerian who moved to Goodison Park in August 2007 for £11.25 million from Middlesbrough.
West Ham are understood to have bid closer to Everton’s valuation earlier this summer - around £6 million - but have now lowered what they are prepared to spend for the 27-year-old who has suffered a series of injuries.
West Ham will today hope to acquire a work permit for the Serbian striker Miralem Sulejmani.
A season-long loan deal has been agreed with Ajax for the 21-year-old but West Ham, who hope to sell Radoslav Kovac to Stoke City for around £1.5 million, with the midfielder travelling north last night for talks, have to appeal for a permit.

Re: 22:Ayegbeni Yakubu - being fed on Chicken!
Im sure that The Yak would be delighted to join a club that rate him the same as Jon Stead.
Those couple of fuckwits were bad enough when they were at Brum. They are even worse now they are at Wham.

What a monumental own goal that could turn out to be...... Cue that sellotaped to Yak's locker when he is about to turn out against them (whoever he plays for...)

Re: 22:Ayegbeni Yakubu - being fed on Chicken!
Should put in a cheeky half a million bid in for Parker, after all, in that role you do want someone younger, quicker and utilmately better than Parker.
Makes me wanna give Yak a big hug though, hope he finds some form for us this season.

Re: 22:Ayegbeni Yakubu - being fed on Chicken!
£1-2m is bordering on a piss take. Moyes should put bids in for their entire team, and see how they like to be undervalued.
Dear Mr Sullivan,
We would like to express our interest in Carlton Cole, and would be grateful if you would consider selling him for 70p .........................................

£1-2m
Gold thinks Carlton Cole is worth £20m:
Liverpool will have to cough up £20m for Carlton Cole. West Ham are willing to sell but they want a top price as they would have little time before the new season kicks off to sign a replacement striker.

If he's only 'worth' £1-2m why did they bid three to six times that a couple of months ago.
There should be rules against people with brain disorders running football clubs.

you have to ask if the "fit and proper" test to be a football owner should be extended to cover IQ as well
Re: 22:Ayegbeni Yakubu - being fed on Chicken!
Their valuation won't have impressed Yakubu.
"Come and join us Mr Yak. We think you're a worthless couldn't hit a barn door crock of a striker, but our kit looks good on you".
Oh dear.

Great point. I'm sure he's just dying to join up with a club where he's valued so low.....(albeit only by the idiot chairman).
Re: 22:Ayegbeni Yakubu - being fed on Chicken!
Just for comedy value:
Liverpool will have to cough up £20m for Carlton Cole. West Ham are willing to sell but they want a top price as they would have little time before the new season kicks off to sign a replacement striker

Tonteau wrote:Just for comedy value:Liverpool will have to cough up £20m for Carlton Cole. West Ham are willing to sell but they want a top price as they would have little time before the new season kicks off to sign a replacement striker
so £20m for a striker who has scored about 20 senior goals, and £1m for a stiker who has scored about 100 more and is about the same age. You couldn't shovel that shit even if you had a mechanical digger - yet Sullivan seems to think its perfectly reasonable - he'll be telling us he's napoleon next....
